Michael S. Habib, DMD
I grew up in Holmdel, NJ about 10 minutes away from the closest beach. Growing up there was perfect. I loved going to the beach, the shore points, and to all the parks in Monmouth County. I am a very ambitious and social guy, but oddly enough I’m also very easy going and enjoy spending time alone watching movies or reading the news. I am very critical of details and confirming that a job is done well, and I always strive to make sure I’ve accomplished something positive. I have wanted to become a dentist since I was probably in elementary school but I didn't decide to actually apply until I was well into my college career!
I went to college at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY where I had an amazing time, maybe a bit too much fun, traveling around New York City and exploring all the incredible things only NYC has to offer. After a brief hiatus to a college back in Jersey, I explored what I really wanted to do and that exploration brought me back to LIU to finish my degree; a B.S. in Biology. I always knew that working with my hands and working in healthcare was right for me. That’s why dentistry was the perfect fit. I applied to a lot of dental schools because I wanted to make sure I would have a chance to bring my positive, no worries beach-kid personality into the world of Dentistry!
I chose Temple Dental because of their great clinical reputation and strong academics. Philadelphia was also a deciding factor, and it was another amazing city to live in. I feel incredibly lucky that I had a chance to explore and experience such a unique and historic place. I had a wonderful time living in Philly; soaking up vast amounts of culture, food, history, fun, and dental knowledge of course! I ate a ton of cheese steaks, made meaningful friendships, built a sturdy foundation of knowledge for the rest of my career, and had some of the best times of my life.
Now, I am immensely excited to back home! I look forward to living and becoming an integral part of the community in my home state. I can’t wait to meet all of you potential new patients out there so we can start building those bonds that help make working in healthcare so excellent and rewarding!
